“Ticket Master” Sculpture by Mia Liu

13 Apr

My husband tells remarkable stories about his teenage summers spent working at the Opryland Theme Park.  One day, while assigned to the turnstile as a ticket taker, a park visitor commenced labor.  His co-worker became a defacto OB for what was thankfully a safe delivery.   I’m not sure what name was bestowed on the child, but I wouldn’t be surprised if it was Tammy.

Artist Mia Liu had a more upscale assignment collecting admissions at the Guggenheim Museum.  Rather than dispose of the stubs she reuses them to create these wonder wheels.  These too will turn some heads.

Beautiful and some remind me of those old slide carousels, from before everything went digital and power point.

If I had that kind of ambition, I might be world-ruler! These are amazing!
