Last night I went to see “Moonrise Kingdom“, the new Wes Anderson film. Three minutes into it, all I could think of was Bo Bartlett’s paintings. If you enjoy my blog even a smidge, you will LOVE this movie. A true visual feast. I’m stuffed.

Why am I surprised that an art blog is primarily pictures? I love what you are doing and look forward to looking…just looking. I think I have probably spent more time reading about art and the making of art than simply looking.
LOVE these paintings. Thanks for posting this…and the movie looks great, too.
I hope you are enjoying your independence…
I am savoring the website and work by Bo Bartlett…thank you for the introduction Besty. Absolutely LOVE his work.
I’m so glad you like it! Thanks for commenting
You are so right – that movie made me want to paint it – it also reminded me of your post on awkward youth – and the new book by John Irving – In One Person – have you read it ?
You are so right ! These painting are similar to the look and feel of the movie – and they capture that beautiful light ! I loved that movie myself, and I love these paintings.
Thanks for sharing this.
I’m so glad we see it the same way!
