From my point of view, the world is one big art show.  I created this blog to chronicle my interest in visual arts but am receptive to what other ideas might evolve from the process.  Fortunately I am blissfully ignorant when it comes to the academics of art curation or selection.   Nonetheless, I do know what I like and that it doesn’t need to match the sofa.

    This is my second viewing of your blog and I find it refreshingly inviting! Thanks for culling some of the more unusual and dynamic artists from around the globe…greatly appreciated! Here’ s my mini review response to this current showing.

    “This series is a curious blend of a real and imaginative depiction of the notion of “summer reading”. Ekaterina’s blend of media and time portrays a period when summer reading and summer itself was a far distant season for romance, vacation family — nuclear, Norman ,Rockwell ish times and simple page turning. Hers is an intriguing series and hearkens us back to a distant memory, while propelling us forward with renewed imaginings of our own seasons and ‘tomes of leaves’. This is an installation worth experiencing up close and personal! “

    I allow you to sidetrack me almost everyday. You present just enough to get me following down paths looking for more of the artists’ images.. and bio notes.. and I love the galleries that you have brought to my attention. But if I choose to use some self-restraint–each day’s post, alone, is very satisfying.

    What a fabulous blog you have created here! I usually just look and never read much on the art blogs I troll but you have a wonderful way of introducing your artists with anicdotal seques (is that a thing?).     Betsy – glad you liked the lightpaintings. don’t know where you are located but there are two exhibits going on now. There is an 80′ lightpainting at the Boise Art Museum up through April 17, and a major show of lightpaintings at the Naples Museum of Art through June 30th. Hope you get to see one of them. Stephen
