My grandmother was a big fan of cut glass. I actually think cut glass is pretty…but not in groups of 30. She displayed part of her collection in a breakfront that was the size of a Winnebago. Every time you walked past it, there was a dangerous tinkling sound that alerted everyone in the house if you were “rough-housing”. I remember she also had some frilly, porcelain figurines tucked far in the back that had been her mother-in-law’s. I asked her about them once, and she rolled her eyes. Apparently, they weren’t her favorite.
Chris Antemann has given the form a whole new twist. Her scenes are downright naughty and certainly belong front and center rather than collecting dust in the back of a cabinet. My grandmother would approve.

Revisiting an earlier post, I’m pleased to update you on the work of Beverly Fishman. Her glass pills are both beautiful and addictive. Free of unpleasant side effects and available over the counter.
