“Frog Bucks” Folded Bill Sculptures by Philippe Petremant

Today, I’m in lovely Fort Worth, Texas visiting TCU with my college-bound son.  These days, many schools issue magical cards to students loaded with their own form of currency.  Here, it is “Frog Bucks” nicknamed such after the school’s mascot, the warm and cuddly “horn frog“.  I never thought I would be charmed by a spiney amphibean but after today’s tour of the magnificent campus, I’m converted.

Artist Philippe Petremant’s folded sculptures are themselves a lesson in political science.  In this case, the mascots get a makeover anyone could love.
