“Good Lighting” Shadow Art by Kumi Yamashita
Last weekend I witnessed as my young friend Wilson broke a Guinness Book world record. His skill? The balance board. He stood on that bedeviling contraption for almost 2 hours. Talk about focus. I complain just standing in line.
I’m always in awe of how many different ways people can express their talents. Japanese artist Kumi Yamashita pushes every kind of limit. Her shadows are created using a fine balance of light and object.

Those are fascinating. My favorite might be the question mark or maybe the profiles from paper… but maybe those just translate best in photographs.
This is unbelievable! It’s amazing because you can’t imagine the shadow that the pile of objects will create!
