“Method to the Madness” Collages by Steven McPherson

I never took Home Economics class in high school and now it is coming back to haunt me.  Not only do I have to pay someone to hem my Sevens, but also I’m illiterate when it comes to reading grocery “codes”.  I simply had no idea that the little whatchamacallits that secure a loaf of bread mean something.   I learned only yesterday that the color indicates the day of the week the loaves were baked!   Mercifully, I found a chart to explain it.  I’m so empowered with my new-found knowledge that I’ve ordered a deluxe hardback copy of Hints from Heloise.

Artist Steven McPherson has his own fascination with inexplicable doohickeys.  Most of his pieces are created from flotsam and reflect on areas of our planet like the Pacific Trash Vortex.
