“White Trash” Tin Can Paintings by Kim Alsbrooks
In a meeting the other day, a gentleman asked me if he could remove his jacket. I had forgotten that little rule. Naturally, I was charmed. Similarly, another friend mentioned how her mother didn’t allow her to drink anything out of a can on the street. It’s considered low brow and “telling”.
My husband’s grandmother used to compliment my parenting by saying, “Betsy, you are doing a wonderful job with Meade and Ridley…you understand the difference between raising and rearing. One “raises” a crop of corn, but one rears children.” All I can say is, “I’m trying”
Kim Alsbrooks mixes metaphor with her silhouettes on smashed pieces of garbage. These are sure to raise an eyebrow.

Agreed. Love your site by the way. well done
These are so charming. I like art that doesn’t take itself too seriously. Funnily enough, work like that often ends up having the most to say.
