Yesterday I read about a New York museum installing a “clay bar” where you can belly up to some manipulative fun.  I think it is meant for children, but I think it is an appealing idea for all ages.  Anything to promote and reclaim our natural divergent thinking skills.  A fascinating video  featuring Sir Ken Robinson does a great job of explaining how, by the time we are middle schoolers, society and formal education have distracted us from nurturing our natural ability to imagine possibilities.  Perhaps a little clay play would be therapuetic.  Peter Opheim apparently thinks so…
