“Pigskin Tires” Anything Goes by Wim Delvoye
Versatile artist Wim Delvoye will take a crack at anything. His latest triumph involves carving super treads into delicate filigree patterns. I think this has gone over better with PETA than his earlier theme which involved tattoo experiments on live pigs.
I think the artist has been given a lot of noteriaty around that subject…yes.
enig idee hoe zeer dat tatoeeren doet ??? schandalig, en dat in de naam van kunst? DIERENMISHANDELING
These are wonderful. Not sure on the pigs, but the tires are just amazing. Great work. Thanks for featuring Wim Delvoye.
I wonder if it effects the snow rating on the tyres… 🙂
I did a random search on wordpress and this was the first page that looked in any way interesting. I will be following this from now on, maybe it will help me with my artistic explorations!
They actually do not feel the pain according to the site as their nerve endings are different than ours…it is nevertheless, contraversial, yes.
fabulous–I don’t know which are better, the tires or the pigs.
Love the intricate tires, but am truly horrified by the poor pigs. Went to his website to see the story (i.e. how does he protect the pigs from pain) only to find the pigs aren’t alive at all — they’re stuffed! Or so it says, anyway. Thanks for the look at the tires, anyway.
