“Back of the Envelope” Drawings by Mark Powell
I am a piler not a filer. This can get a little hairy in months like December when the mail floods in and I’m a threat to miss something critical or deadline sensitive. My husband is the opposite…the type that r.s.v.p’s the day the invite arrives. This has led to a number of disagreements but secretly I’m very grateful for his vigilance. Bills get paid, our lights stay on, and the tax man stays satisfied.
Artist Mark Powell knows how to handle his deliveries.
Hand delivered mail is a lost art in and of itself. I am particularly intrigued by the underlying connections between the experiences communicated within the envelopes and the experience etched on the faces they now bear. Incredible.
Beautiful. And there’s something about the creases in the paper together with the creases in their faces that’s wonderful. Thanks!
It is so stunning to see these lovingly-detailed renderings on surfaces as mundane as yesterday’s mail. It makes it all the more personal, doesn’t it. thank you for these.
The guy can draw! I hope that the botox craze does not put him out of business! He really has double trouble because it looks like the post will be going away too. Alas, time moves on…
Wow! These are awesome! Thanks for sharing 🙂
