This week I am in the Bahamas at a bridge tournament.  Duplicate.  I was introduced to the game by my grandmother in 1990.  She was 85 at the time and her partner, Mrs. Dortch, at 95, had advanced Alzheimer’s.  The only lucid thing Mrs. Dortch could do was bid and play her hand.  She had long since forgotten my grandmother’s name but this didn’t impact her ability to draw trump.  I’m hoping this synaptic exercise will have similar staying power for me.

Artist Brian Berg knows how to deal with it.  Suits me.
