“Easter Bonnets” Photography Series by Riitta Ikonen and Karoline Hjorth

When I was growing up, everyone donned their daughters in elaborate bonnets for Easter Sunday.  These toppers were confections of pale colored batiste,  lace, and satin ribbons.  Naturally, with my daughter Meade, I carried on the tradition.  One of my favorite photographs of her as a child includes her Easter haberdashery.  Where did the time go?

Using similarly delicate materials, photographers Riitta Ikonen and Karoline Hjorth have bedecked some octogenerians with equal flare.  Bring on the  bunny!
