“Head Above Water 2” Paintings by Laura Sanders
Laura Sanders captures the most vulnerable expressions. I have kept the top painting which is entitled “Faye” on my computer screen for the past two years. I know that look. She’s determined to swim but just barely keeping her head above water. I’m sure her mother or father are close by in the lake, arms extended and encouraging. Or maybe they aren’t. One way or another, this girl ain’t goin’ down…

thank you *blush* 😉
and yes, you’re right: some pictures are best viewed in reality not on screen.
agreed and in person you would not believe the magic…I love the internet and hate it at the same time…doesn’t do these justice….heavy brush and paint application but superfine detail from a distance….thank you for commenting you have a great eye
somehow I have the feeling that those pictures in being painted they are more vivid than as photographs. the brush here creates some air of movement. great!!! 🙂
Thank you Claire! I hope you are well! xo
Hey Mrs. Wills,
I’ve been meaning to take a look at your blog again recently and I was taken here through the post about Mrs. Froeb. Really love these though… something not many people think to capture.
You go girl!
