Artclectic 1: Recycled Sculptures by Alex Lockwood

This month I will be featuring a lineup of incredible artists who will be showing in Nashville at Artclectic.  In its 17-year history, Artclectic has presented talent from a variety of disciplines to a grateful public.  Be sure to mark your calendar for October 24-26th at the University School of Nashville on 21st Avenue South to take in the scene.

Today, I present Alex Lockwood.  If you are wondering what the heck he is hurling into the sky in the above picture, you have company.  All I know is I like it.  According to his website, it involved an awful lot of bottletops.  He has a penchant for the recycled as you will see further down in the post.  Lottery tickets are turned into what I would call “The Garden of Good and Evil”.

  1. Alex, I loved seeing your work tonight in person. I am sorry I did not purchase a piece as I like it very much. I simply couldn’t decide. I’d love to come see more of your work as you progress in your studio. Please send me how to do that at your convenience. Congratulations on a great show

  2. very cool. You being a fan of objects made of magazines (vase I once received) and paper is obvious here, These abstract objects are beautifully intricate.
