Early in our marriage my husband and I went to see the movie “Field of Dreams“.   It broke him up and he cried like a baby.  I don’t think he was alone in his reaction.  Something about  the line “if you build it they will come.” strikes at the heart of all of us.  Unfortunately, it does not always apply in real life.  Take for example the behemoth cathedral to consumption, the New South China Mall that has a 1% occupancy rate.  Twice the size of the Mall of America, it seems the developers may be a little over their skis.

Finding a parking spot in artist Michelle Muldrow‘s gouaches is a piece of cake.    Her work memorializes the urban wasteland.
