“Spill” Tomfoolery by Livia Marin

In the 80’s, it was all the rage to buy gag gifts at shops like Spencer’s.  There you could get your “basics” like whoopee cushions, hot pepper chewing gum and dribble glasses.  My favorite of all pranks, though, were the “fake spill”sculptures. To this day, my friend Chloe keeps a tipped over bottle of nail polish on her Scalamandre covered sofa just to keep everyone off balance.  It’s the perfect counterpoint to her otherwise grown-up decor.

Artist Livia Marin’s work oozes with style.
