“Etch-A-Sketch” Earthworks by Jim Denevan
I’ve becoming increasingly aware how uncomfortable most people are with silence.
I remember being told to “count to ten” before reacting to something important. I’ve employed this more and more of late. What I’ve learned is that people start to panic by the time I get to four. My “thinking” face must look very similar to my “disapproving” face because when I wear it I hear a lot of backtracking and argument. I’m going to work on that.
Artist Jim Denevan, knows how to back up and get some perspective. His earth sculptures have their groove on.
very zen! unattached?
I love the ocean ones!
Wow, these are beautiful. I am intrigued (and a bit mystified!) by the notion of creating something that will be washed away by the next tide. I wonder what that says about the artist?
Thank you Kristen. I can’t wait to see your site! B
In this fast-paced world that we live in, maybe counting to five is better!
Wow, I am floored. I love these sculptures. Even as photos they are something special. I can only imagine how they are in person.
I love the Art Stormer blog by the way. I’ve been a fan since you featured one of my favorite artists, Ali Cavanaugh.
