“Happy Meal” Dome Displays by Lucas Mongiello
Our family friend, Julie, has two children who are 15 years apart. Think about it – that’s almost 30 years of soccer tournaments, parent/teacher meetings, immunization records, and… Happy Meals. Being a saver, Julie stashed all of the extruded plastic Disney movie promotional toys under a huge window seat for years. Last Christmas season, she decided to put them to use and made the most unusual nativity scenes I’ve ever seen.
Snow White gazing down at “BJ” from the “Barney and Friends” in a manger kind of rattled me. Naturally, she had thought it through. “BJ?” but of course! Baby Jesus!
Artist Lucas Mongiello also gets a prize for his clever displays. Not available in the drive thru.

I now have a game plan for the 2 suitcases of transformers my son accumulated over the years. They are weirdly beautiful under those glass domes.
