The skin police have made their mark on  Gen Y.  At the beach, no one arrived without a “fake bake” (spray tan) and no one “laid out” 80’s style with baby oil and tin reflectors.  Hats and constant reapplication of sunscreen were de rigueur.  My peaches and cream daughter has only the slightest burn on an overlooked patch of shoulder after 5 days of intense tropical sun.

Sun worship, with or without protection, is the theme in these warm and wonderful paintings by Marta Penter.  Very aPEELing.
