“Busted” Sculptures by Lanie Gannon
I’m heading to Arrowmont this weekend with my sister, Margaret and my mother, Ann Marie, and my godmother, Lynn. Arrowmont is a mountain craft school outside of Gatlinburg, Tennessee founded by the national Pi Beta Phi fraternity, of which we are all a part. Classes are offered in woodworking, jewelry making, clay, weaving, and the like. I’ve signed up for something called “glass beads” because it required the least amount of equipment. The only thing I know how to make is trouble, so the experience should be entertaining.
When I look at the work of Lanie Gannon I’m in awe of its smooth perfection. I’m also a sucker for her wry sense of humor.
