“Pearl Divers” Weird and Wonderful Watercolors by Steve Garrison

gal_brown_low_res

Watercolor artist Steve Garrison imagines a fresh-water mermaid.  His painted ladies have scales and spots and an occasional well-placed fin.

On another shore, Ama, are Japanese divers famous for collecting pearls.  The majority of ama are women.  Japanese tradition holds that the practice of ama may be 2,000 years old.[1] Traditionally, and even as recently as the 1960s, ama dove wearing only a loincloth. Even in modern times, ama dive without scuba gear or air tanks, making them a traditional sort of free-diver.

  1. Link in post above for artwanted.com does work & shows 16 of my works.

In case you’d like one of my originals (or prints) on your wall (I’d be thrilled) then: Amazon.com. Search Stephen Garrison art & they will pop up. Thanks to Betsy for reviewing & her liner notes. My email: Steve Garrison: troutguy5@gmail.com

  3. Cool work…! But it doesn’t seem to be by Steve Garrison. At least, the link you give doesn’t take one to more like this. And the signatures here don’t match Garrison’s at behance. So, who did these?
