Hopefully, you are heading into a wonderful and safe Independence Day weekend.  Artist Adrian Esparza’s wall sculptures seem a great way to kick off the fun.  Pulling a snag from beautiful hand woven serapes, he deconstructs then reimagines something even more spectacular.  It’s all about a good unwind.

EEW8K4 Leadlight, 2015. Artist Adrian Esparza (USA, 1970) applies the finishing touches to a site-specific work made especially for the exhibition. Esparza uses the traditional blanket often worn as a poncho in this wall-mounted works. The Whitechapel Gallery presents the exhibition Adventures of the Black Square, tracing a century of Abstract art from 1915 to today.
