Recently, I’ve become interested in a material called “Fordite“.  Sometimes called “Detroit agate” or “Motor agate” it is old automobile paint which has hardened sufficiently to be cut and polished.  It was formed by the buildup of layers of enamel paint on skids where cars were hand painted in the old days.  

I think it is beautiful.  You can find pieces as shown below by searching http://www.etsy.com
