“Funny Papers” Paintings by Glennray Tutor
I’m half ashamed/half proud that I haven’t subscribed to my local paper in years. I read the news online. I am, however, less connected to my community because of this decision. Local news falls way to the bottom of my web searches in favor of my individual interests. Another casualty is the absence of the Sunday comics. When was the last time you saw a comic strip stuck to someone’s refrigerator door?
Photorealist Glennray Tutor taps into my nostalgia and seems the perfect post for a Sunday morning. His work is certainly newsworthy.
oil! I don’t know what you mean by working style. You should click on the artists’ name/website. there are more. very well done and he is a great guy
I see these in your house. they are beautifully exactingly rendered. Can you give more information about the media and working style?
you are so welcome!
Perfect Sunday morning post! Tutor’s work gets my day going. Thanks Betsy
good advice.
One of my greatest pleasures is reading the paper early in the morning with a cup of coffee. Ours gets delivered right to our door at 4:30 a.m with a “Thump”. I’m half curious to meet my paper man/boy/woman but then again…not. All the local news, obits and even ads are the best. And the funnies I save until last. Get the paper Bets.
